HS3 Pro and Homeseer Lite (Zee) are now both running on Ubuntu 16.04 64 bit server. ![]() Many Homeseer users are using VMWare from many years ago. I still do VMWare sometimes for testing stuff. Here run Oracle Virtual Boxes (XP, W7 and W10) on my Ubuntu 16.04 64 bit laptop these days to keep running the old and the new. What OS is the Ubuntu 16.04 VM running on? Linux or Windows or MAC or BSD? What VM? This Windows Hyper-V, Oracle Virtual Box, VMWare, BSD Jails, Parallels virtual machines. Keep the build under 10Gb, make it light, install whatever SAPI voices you have and use speaker dot exe pointed over to your Ubuntu HS3 VM IP address / port. You can still create a light Wintel VM just for speaker dot exe. Note that this is different from HS3's other mechanism of TTS which is just a wave file recording of TTS sent over to an Android/Windows HS3 touch client for playback. The Windows client is speaker dot exe and is using Microsoft SAPI. The linux way appears to be a speak text to wave file and playback wave file (guesstimate from what I can see). Ubuntu/Windows HS3 just sends out TTS to Ubuntu/Windows TTS client. ![]()
